As the year draws to a close, we at Stellenbosch Hospice take a quiet moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks.
2025 has been a year filled with both challenges and moments of deep meaning. Through it all, one truth remains constant: we are surrounded by a remarkable community. To each donor, volunteer, partner, and friend – thank you. Your support allows us to walk alongside patients and families during some of the most vulnerable and sacred times of life. Without you, our work would not be possible.
This festive season, our thoughts are especially with those in our care, patients who may be spending their last Christmas with loved ones, and families who are navigating the bittersweet beauty of time together. Please know that you are held in our hearts and in our prayers.
We also extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible team – the nurses, carers, and staff who work with unwavering dedication and compassion. Many of them will spend Christmas away from their own families so they can continue to care for others. Their selflessness is the heartbeat of Stellenbosch Hospice, and we are endlessly thankful for the love they bring into every home and bedside.
If you feel moved to spread a little joy this season, we invite you to consider dropping off a small treat or message of encouragement for our staff. Even the simplest gesture – a note, a chocolate, a handmade gift – can remind them that they are seen, valued, and loved.
Christmas is a time of hope. At hospice, hope does not always mean cure, but it always means presence, dignity, comfort, and love. That’s what we strive to offer, every day, with your support.
