At Stellenbosch Hospice, we are privileged to witness the inspiring journeys of our patients, and Blandinah’s story is one that fills us with hope and pride.

In July 2024, Blandinah was involved in a devastating accident while driving in Franschhoek. After spending three weeks at Tygerberg Hospital, she was admitted to Stellenbosch Hospice on August 27, 2024. When she first arrived, Blandinah was bedridden and facing a long road to recovery.

However, through her remarkable resilience and the dedicated care of our team, she is making incredible progress. Her wounds have healed, and she is now actively engaging in physiotherapy and gym exercises to rebuild her strength. Each day, she works on improving her posture, mobility in her left elbow and shoulder, standing balance, and overall flexibility. She is currently taking around 30 steps daily and is steadily working toward walking independently.

Thanks to the continued support from our compassionate physiotherapy team and her unwavering determination, Blandinah’s vitals remain stable, and she is showing constant improvement. Her journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, the impact of holistic care, and the incredible strength that our patients show every day.

We are so proud to be a part of Blandinah’s recovery and look forward to celebrating many more milestones with her as she continues to progress.
