When people hear the word “hospice,” they often think of end-of-life care. While that is a vital part of what we do, there’s so much more to the story, especially here at Stellenbosch Hospice.
Our Inpatient Care Unit is not only a place for those facing life-limiting conditions. In fact, many of our patients are admitted for short-term care such as symptom control, respite care, or rehabilitation following a hospital stay. We also support patients referred by Stellenbosch Hospital for step-down care, helping them transition from hospital to home by regaining strength, mobility, and confidence.
At Stellenbosch Hospice, we believe palliative care is about living well, with comfort, dignity, and the right support at the right time. Our Inpatient Unit reflects that philosophy in every detail.
A Home-Like Haven for Healing
Our facility includes:
- Two private rooms for individual care and quiet reflection
- A six-bed ward and a four-bed ward, offering a warm and supportive community environment
- Peaceful views of our Peace Garden, a tranquil space designed for quiet moments or meaningful visits with loved ones.
The garden itself features a wheelchair-friendly path, shaded benches, and a calming atmosphere that invites connection with nature, an important part of emotional and spiritual well-being.
